10+ Holiday Gifts College Student *Actually* Want!
Recommendation from the Econ With Dr. A Team.
Holiday season is upon us. Finding the perfect gift can be a daunting experience. The Econ with Dr. A team has created a list of gifts that we recommend this year. We have broken down the list to Tech, Home, and Books. We have listed the gifts by price, we will start off with the most expensive and end with the most affordable, so stay tuned. At the end, I tell you how you can win one of these as a gift for you!
Tech
Advanced Camera- I love my Sony A7IV. It is great for photography and video. I highly recommend Sony products for video. I use my 28-70mm and 16mm lenses often. I love my 85mm lens, I mainly use it for street photography. This is a perfect gift for the photographer or videographer in your family.
Beginner Camera- No better option that the Sony ZV-E10. An interchangeable lens is a must for starting videographers and photographers. Get this one with the 16-50mm lens. This is a perfect gift for anyone interested in vlogging.
Microphone- This is the best wireless lavalier microphone for vlogers. If you are doing seated videos, then I recommend Audio-Technica AT875R. I just purchased the Audio-Technica and I am using it right now. I love this microphone.
Home
No easier way to make a home feel more homie than by adding plants. I have always had a hard time keeping plants alive. However, getting started with the right plants helps you develop the skills needed to become a plant parent. My go-to supplier is Costa Farms, you can find them on Amazon. Their packaging is superb and the plants arrive healthy. Here are the two starter plants that I recommend:
Fiddle Leaf Fig- These grow fast. Start with a small one. I started with a 2 foot plant and mine is about 5 feet now.
White Bird of Paradise- These grow fast too. I bought mine a year ago and it was 2 feet tall and now it is 6 feet.
Both of them are low maintenance. I water mine once a week. I recently had to re-pot the White Bird Paradise into a bigger pot. Otherwise, they are fine indoors by a window.
Books
Books are sentimental gifts. There is nothing better than buying the perfect book for a friend. Their bookshelf will forever remind them of the gift you got them. Here are some books that the Econ with Dr. A team recommends for this year’s gifts.
Fawwaaz Abdulazeez- Good Economics for Hard Times by Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo
Anotwan Batts- Ages of American Capitalism By:Jonathan Levy
Grace McConn- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Becca Wilson- The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
Dr. A- The Pathless Path by Paul Millerd
Win a Gift
Want a chance to win one of the books our team recommended above? Good news! We are giving away a book to one lucky person who leaves a comment on the YouTube video sharing their favorite gift on this list and make sure to like the video as well. We will select a winner randomly, so everyone has an equal chance. We will select the winner on November 20th. You must be located in the United States and willing to share your address if picked. We are picking one person from Youtube, do head over there and tell us which gift you like!
