I recently heard Simon Sinek share a quote that resonated with me:
"Creativity is finding order in chaos."
I had never considered creativity through this lens, but that phrase encapsulates so much of the work I love to do, whether as an academic or when leading teams.
Academics
When I reflect on the most impactful academics I know, they don't just accumulate knowledge - they're pattern seekers. They sift through overwhelming amounts of data and seemingly unrelated concepts to uncover meaningful connections that others miss. That's creativity in action.
Leaders
The same holds true for great leaders. In today's rapidly changing business landscape, they navigate through market uncertainties, competing priorities, and information overload to craft clear visions and actionable strategies. They find the signal in the noise.
Creativity isn't just about artistic expression - it's about finding meaning in what others might dismiss or fail to notice. It's about having the patience and perspective to see order when others see chaos.
I am sharing this with you to encourage you to lean into your creativity.
Here is the interview, which has a lot of other create takeaways
