Worrying about jobs used to be a senior year concern. Today, students are saddled with the question of what will they do after graduation before they even set foot on a college campus. This worry impacts what majors they choose, how they navigate college, and how anxious they feel about all of the decisions they make. We designed The Econ Games to help students have a better understanding of what they can do with their degree after graduation.
The Econ Games Speaker series has been off to a great start. The future lineup is shaping up and includes several people that are pushing into new frontiers. The next discussion is on November 17th at 12 pm Eastern. Dr. Dustin Rumbaugh (Belmont University) will present his recent publication "The impact of American Football on men's labor hours. The question is "Are You Ready for Some Football?""
Data Analyst at YUM! Brands
We had Kendall Ruber join us a couple of weeks ago to discuss her path to being a data analyst at Yum! Brands. Our goal has been to increase awareness about possible career paths for economics majors. Being a data analyst is a popular career for economics students and one that is interesting to them, but the path isn’t so clear. Kendall helped shed light on how she landed her job as a data analyst and how having an economics undergraduate degree helped.
Here is a replay of our discussion. Share it with anyone that might be interested in a career in data analytics.
